Binge Eating Is Not A Form Of Dieting

There is certainly no shortage of advice these days when it comes to dieting. Generally a large portion of the advice is centered around what you should eat and what you should not eat. Although what you eat certainly plays a large role in the success of any diet, it isn't the only component to a successful diet. Many times is the case the one's eating habits are getting in the way of their diet strategy.

Keep in mind that when eat and when (or for how long you don't)you don't eat are a very important component in your diet. In other words, your eating habit. Why is this so important? Primarily because when you are dieting you are changing the way you eat and you don't want to get into an unhealthy eating habit of starving yourself then binge eating.

Let me ask you this... does this ring a bell at all? For breakfast you have very little to eat or perhaps nothing at all. Around lunch time, you are either too busy or you just don't want to consume any unhealthy restaurant or fast foods. So by this point maybe you've had something to drink and a cracker or two. Now, by the time you get back home, your body is screaming for something to eat. In fact, you're so hungry you could eat a proverbial horse. You rationalize eating way more than you should because you essentially have had nothing all day long. You end up closing out your day by watching some television... in fact, you fall asleep while doing so.

Is this the same as eating three good meals each day? Eating one meal that is the same amount of food as three? No it isn't. It isn't because of the way that the body digests the food. All day long you have starved your body of what it needs, it can't handle everything at once.

You are quite simply overloading your body's capacity and balance. As a result, you will end up eating all kinds of foods that aren't good for you or your diet. And more often than not, if you are away from home, you'll grab some fast food or other type of food that is high in fat.

This unhealthy eating habit occurs because you have driven your body to the point that it must have some type of nourishment and this is not good for you from a health stand point or a diet stand point.

You can snack in between those meals too. You want to make sure though that your snacks are healthy ones. Did you know that most doctors say that snacking is good for you? It gives you some energy when you are feeling like you are running on empty.

Eat snacks that are going to energize you not those that are loaded with fat. Foods that are high in fat actually make you feel even more lethargic and trigger your appetite to eat more.

If you are having problems eating three meals a day, you really need to work on your diet. This is because you don't want to binge eat. Binge eating will only hurt you in the long run.

Starving your body is not healthy and it certainly isn't an effective approach to weight loss. The more you starve your body the more your body goes into a defensive mode against the starvation by trying to conserve all the energy it can... thus making it even tougher to lose the weight.
